Bletchfest’s Festival Year

Having successfully launched East Surrey’s Arts Festival last year we are now building on that success in order to embed Bletchfest as the district’s premier community focused arts festival. With three events already organised and planned in the coming months at least two more are in the development stage for later in the year.

The first is our All Fools Comedy Night at Bletchingley Village Hall on Saturday the 1st April, with Dominic Holland headlining, followed by an Art Exhibition at Grange Meadow, Bletchingley over 13th & 14th May showcasing visual arts and crafts in their many diverse forms from paintings , sculpture, ceramics, photography, woodcraft, hand made jewellery and more by local artists of all ability levels including those of local charities such as Renewed Hope, Orpheus Trust, Bletchingley Skills Centre along with Nutfield Friends of Ukraine. This celebration of arts will provide opportunities to buy some of the artworks with the festive atmosphere supported by live music and activities for children.

The third event, to take place on the 1st July. is our Music in the Meadow festival at Grange Meadow. This year’s musical feast is provided by the Titanic Show Band, Breathe Band and The Nick T Band with their unique brand of English flavoured Americana. Hot food and bar refreshments will be available.

Later in the year year we expect to host the Bletchfest Blues Festival at Bletchingley Village Hall in November and a seasonal theatrical show possibly in December.

It’s a pretty full year already and if we can do more then we will. We just need others to come forward and share their ideas and involvement with us. In any event you can and should stay informed as these events come to fruition and more details become available. To do so why not subscribe to our mailing list. Just complete the very simple form below and you’ll receive full details direct to your inbox as they become available. The details provided will be used solely to keep you abreast of Bletchfest activities and will never be shared with third parties.
