Music in the Meadow Reloaded!

Live music is great fun and when done well makes for a really entertaining time. There are plenty of live music festivals around as we move into the spring and summer. Many local festivals are commercial enterprises such as beer or food festivals sometimes featuring readily recognisable bands but they can often be surprisingly expensive events. Bletchfest's Music in the Meadow aims to provide just as much real high quality musical entertainment by promoting the many very talented musicians we have in the East Surrey community but making ticket prices much more affordable than they are for many commercial events. This doesn't mean skimping on talent though. It's surprising to see just how much under appreciated talent we have locally. Producing their own excellent original songs along with those songs you will know and love performed in their own unique style. Music in the Meadow will entertain you as you discover music you didn’t know you liked!

This year's Music in the Meadow at Grange Meadow, Bletchingley on Saturday 1st July has tickets available from £10 with £5 for children 12 or under making it not only affordable but with three very high quality bands, Titanic Dance Band, Breathe Band and Mooshwa Pooshwa providing more than 4 hours of great live entertainment it's wonderful value too! There's also a licensed bar, food and drink stalls and free parking! Music in the Meadow is a community event to promote local talent and bring accessible, high quality entertainment to the community.

Gates open at 5:30 with music underway from 6pm with the Titanic Dance Band getting the party started playing a wide selection of songs covering quite a few different decades. Plenty you can sing along too. They’re followed by Breathe Band who were a great success at last year’s Music in the Meadow. Their unique blend of indie folk rock has now been expanded to perform both acoustic and electric using new material along with their old favourites. Our headline act is the excitingly innovative Mooshwa Pooshwa, a band playing an eclectic mix of musical styles - Latin, Gypsy-folk and Klezmer with a punky twist. Lyrical themes include love, regret, murder, mystery, madness and diabolical temptation – but they carry their darkness lightly.

There’s plenty for everyone to enjoy young and old alike! The licensed bar will offer a variety of alcoholic and soft drinks with hot food stalls ready to satisfy more than just your appetite for music. The festival is on grass so bring your own seats, blankets or picnics if you wish but for obvious safety reasons glass bottles or containers are not permitted and cannot be brought into the arena. Music in the Meadow is an event for all and facilities, including wheelchair accessible toilets, are available on site to make the visit comfortable for all. All this and free parking too!!

Bring your dancing shoes or feel free to boogie in your seats but however you party be prepared to have a really great time.
