Jammin’ & Jumpin’: A Ska-Reggae Blowout!

Our themed music nights over the last 2 years have been very successful. Blues Night two years ago saw our band, the British Bluescasting Corporation receive a standing ovation while Kit Packham’s One Jump Ahead had the village buzzing for days after our Jazz Night last year. This year we have another real doozie for you!

Jamsonic is a reggae-ska supergroup formed from Tim Hain’s Jamside Up and SkaSonic with Clive Alive and they’re going to treat you to an evening of reggae and ska sounds with a difference.

Singer and multi instrumentalist Clive Alive created SkaSonic from a group of seasoned, all Jamaican musicians with the talent to bring forth his vision, " it's Ska but not as we know it!". Yes, SkaSonic gives you traditional Ska and Reggae but SkaSonic also gives you an exciting dose of Ska and Reggae made from a blend of genres that you cannot help but be wowed by. SkaSonic uses and fuses well known and popular classic songs in a traditional Jamaican Ska and Reggae style. Try 'House of the Rising Sun ' in Ska and the original will never sound the same again. Interspersed with all that excitement, SkaSonic gives you beautiful Reggae to calm your soul and prepare you for what's next...enjoy yourself it's later than you think.

Tim Hain’s Jamside Up! play a wide variety of music in a reggae style as well as classic reggae covers and some originals. Lead singer and guitarist Tim Hain learned reggae from the source, touring as lead guitarist for Jamaican stars such as Tyrone Taylor, Winston Reedy, Janet Kay and Carol Thompson. From them he gained ’nuff education, and earned ’nuff respect. He has also successfully opened for artists as diverse as Chaka Khan and Thomas Mapfumo, Zimbabwe’s finest. He has also been the butt of ’nuff jokes about being born the wrong colour. Never mind. Tim Hain has a rasta heart, and the voice to match. Tim is also a smokin’ guitar player.

Together as Jamsonic they’re an irresistible amalgam of Jamside Up and SkaSonic featuring Timeless Tim Hain and Clive Alive. The band members have played with many reggae greats including Dennis Brown, Carroll Thompson, Gregory Isaacs, Tyrone Taylor and Culture. It’s going to be another festival of music that will live long in your memory!

The show is at Bletchingley Village Hall on Saturday November the 1st with doors open at 7pm and the show beginning at 8pm. A bar serving beers, wines and soft drinks will be open throughout.

Tickets are on sale now so don’t delay. Book your seat for a festival of good vibes and rock steady beats!
